This Movie Dubbed The ’New Earthlings’ Is Set To Make Millions Of Vegans

The upcoming project, which has been branded as the Australian Earthlings, was produced by filmmaker Chris Delforce – who has just launched a crowdfunding campaign in a bid to bring Dominion to the world next spring.

Following the success of the trailer, seen by nearly 900,000 people worldwide, Delforce is hoping to raise $50,000 to cover the remaining shoots and post-production costs.

Documentary

Dominion shows ‘an uncompromising, damning exploration of the various ways animals are used and abused by humans, particularly in the meat, dairy, egg, clothing, and entertainment industries’.

Filmed primarily in Australia, the movie exposes the legal, industry-standard practices that occur all over the world.

Delforce combines footage from handheld, hidden, and aerial drone cameras to convey both the terrifying scale of an empire built on secrecy – and the individual stories of its victims.

He says: “I want viewers to question the morality and validity of humankind’s dominion over the animal kingdom, advocating not for minor improvements to their welfare but for a deeper conversation about our right to exploit those we deem inferior to ourselves.”

The film is set to debut in Melbourne next March‍

‘Earthlings’

The filmmaker, who is also known for his previous project, Lucent, has talked about his inspiration.

“The film Earthlings was a huge inspiration to me, and I’ve seen the enormous effect it’s had around the world–but too often I hear the excuse that it ‘doesn’t happen in Australia’, or that its footage is now too old, so ‘it’s different now’.

“So I wanted to make something new, something to hit back at that myth of Australia being ‘kind’ to the animals it so brutally uses and disposes of, while also making it clear that these practices and attitudes are standard across the globe and represent a much larger problem.”
